OUR SERVICES

Consciously personal

As a small health center with ten individual bungalows, we emphasize the personal-individual care and accompaniment. The various treatments are tailored to the needs of each guest in the best possible way.

Ayurveda

Literally translated, Ayurveda means wisdom or life science. The term comes from Sanskrit and is made up of the words Ayus (life) and Veda (knowledge). Ayurveda is a traditional holistic healing art from the Hindu Kush (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh), which has been passed on from generation to generation over thousands of years. In Sri Lanka, knowledge was continuously passed on and taught. Despite the influence of Western medicine, Ayurveda has held its ground to this day and is spread all over the world. A distinction is made between the traditional and western understanding of Ayurveda. For us, Ayurveda is a healing art and natural medicine; while in the western world the feel-good aspect is often emphasized, i.e. wellness, rest and relaxation.

PANCHAKARMA THERAPY

One of the most effective methods for physical and mental cleansing and regeneration, as well as for restoring the dynamic balance of the doshas, is the Panchakarma therapy, it can alleviate or even cure health problems. Chronic and psychosomatic diseases such as insomnia, autoimmune diseases, skin diseases, diabetes, tinnitus, hormonal imbalances, digestive disorders, impotence and musculoskeletal disorders can be treated particularly well. We recommend a stay of at least two weeks.

HERBAL HEALING, HERBAL OILS, PREPARATIONS

The tradition of Ayurvedic herbal medicine (Dravyaguna) is an important part of Ayurvedic therapy. A variety of local herbs is used to balance the energies of body and mind. Every herbal formula is tailored to the individual constitution. During the therapy you will receive specially selected ayurvedic preparations, which are usually made up of herbal or spice decoctions, compacts, powders or pastes and are served with meals. They are given to you personally by the doctors. All herbs, tinctures and juices are included in the Ayurvedic therapy prices. The majority of the herbal oils are produced directly in the Ayurveda Health Center with great care according to traditional recipes. The quality and purity of the raw materials are of great concern to us. Medicinal preparations are purchased from a government certified company in Sri Lanka.

FOOD

According to the respective health needs, the treatments are accompanied by a personalized vegetarian diet. This of course is based on Ayurvedic philosophy and has a purifying effect on the organism and invigorates its resistance. A careful selection of spices and the artful combination of the six flavors sweet, sour, salty, hot, bitter and acetous, support the foods healing properties. The food is healthy and gently prepared with local vegetables, fresh herbs and vitamin-rich fruits. Special diets for food intolerances are possible after consultation.

YOGA / MEDITATION

Yoga and Ayurveda are considered two complementary systems of human evolution. The emphasis is on the human individual. Due to their common Vedic roots, they have developed in close connection with each other and influence and cross-fertilise each other. Ayurveda includes many recommendations for healthy living. One of them concerns the regular practice of yoga. Yoga is more than gymnastics, it is a medicine for the body and soul, supports the cleansing of the body, stimulates the metabolism, releases any blockages and ideally complements an Ayurveda therapy.

Yoga and Meditation takes place in English three times a week in the morning and is aimed at beginners and advanced students.

The Nilaveli Ayurveda Health Center invites you to contemplate. The yoga shala overlooking the lagoon is available to our guests for personal yoga and meditation practice.
